Lots of info out there.

I was just doing some internet searches about "why do some people like to be tied up?" and I ran across a blog that is remarkably similar to this one.
It is short, but it adds a new dimension to the discussion.

Dr. Temple Grandin worked with sheep and cattle in 'crush' machines where they were held fast while being branded or treated. They expected the animals to become stressed. Imagine their surprise when they found that the beasts went into raptures. Their breathing, heart, and blood pressure rates dropped. Now this is called "The Crush Reflex". Guess what? It applies to humans. We have a 'crush reflex' to being bound and helpless. It is not a sexual feeling. Humans get high when they are tied up. It can be associated with sexual feelings. Often it is not.
